Young Vic Theatre – Lecture on the use of Chekhov Technique by Directors
Cass Fleming and members of The Chekhov Collective delivered an innovative practice research lecture for the Young Vic Theatre Directors’ Programme on the use of Chekhov Technique and The Little Prince and New Pathways Research Project research projects.
This event shared archival research (Chekhov Theatre Studio, Deirdre Hurst du Prey Archive, Dartington Hall) along with new insights, theoretical understandings and practical uses of Chekhov Technique for directors in contemporary theatre practice. This lecture also disseminated the research findings in a specific form of ‘Catalyst Direction’ to these professional practitioners while further exploring and expanding on the understanding of the field, praxis methodology and related theoretical issues.
This work was continued in one later event held in partnership with the Young Vic theatre (see previous projects).
