Chekhov and Outer Atmospheres — special guest workshop with Graham Dixon, Michael Chekhov Studio London
How can we create genuine atmospheres that the actor and the audience objectively feel and experience?
Graham, building on Chekhov’s suggestions for creating outer atmospheres, has developed a series of exercises that enable the actor, by working with the 5 senses, to develop a process, a step by step method, to create objective atmospheres without having to revert to their own personal, inner feelings.
By using this step-by-step method, the actor will be able to, very clearly, experience the difference between outer atmospheres and inner feelings.
GRAHAM DIXON: Graham has been involved in Michael Chekhov work as a professional actor, director and teacher for nearly 50 years having studied with, and met, many of Chekhov’s original student
