Chekhov and a bit of Laban, with Funlola Olufunwa

An exploration of Chekhov’s qualities of movement and Laban’s effort qualities. We will discover whether Laban language is complementary to Michael Chekhov work.

Useful for teachers and everyone curious about both techniques. Please be prepared for practical work and have water handy.

Funlola Olufunwa is an actor, acting teacher and writer. She is a graduate of the Royal Central School’s MA in Actor Training and Coaching and prior to that, trained at RADA on the BA Acting course.

As a performer, Funlola this year performed in an online digital show for Creation Theatre: The Time Machine, and recorded some episodes of a radio drama for RADA called ‘This Weird Normal’. She went on in Autumn to direct Midsummer Night’s Dream as part of RADA’s annual Shakespeare for Young Audiences program.She currently teaches freelance, (including Michael Chekhov technique) at LAMDA.
