Illuminating the Shadow: Finding Love in Our Profession with Gretchen Egolf

Location: Goldsmiths, University of London

This workshop offers an investigation into the cultivation of light over darkness in our working artistic lives.  Even when working with negative or dark themes in a work’s subject, or even when working during a difficult time in one’s personal life or in society, we can always find love in our profession.  We will use Chekhov’s practical tools of contacting this positivity and joy.

This workshop is of interest to actors, directors, playwrights, dancers, or any theatre artists looking to gain tools to enable them to fight the overwhelm of occasional darkness in material or in our lives which sometimes negatively affects our creativity.  No previous specific Chekhov experience required and non-actors are very welcome also.
